Charles (Chuck) Nelson, age 86, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. He was born September 14, 1930 in Lindsay, CA to Charles H. and Ollie M. Nelson. He was the oldest of four children: Chuck, Shirley, Evelyn and Donald.

While growing up in the Lindsay/Strathmore area he helped with the family dairy and worked in his uncle Jim’s orange groves. The Nelson family moved to the West Valley area of Yakima when he graduated from high school where they farmed and started apple orchards. Within a few years the family built a small apple packing warehouse on Fisk Road.

Dale was born in Yakima on September 12, 1936, the oldest of 4 children to Morris and Gertrude Connelly. Dale was raised in Yakima and graduated from Naches High School in 1954. His sister Phyliss introduced him to one of her friends, Noreda Cooper, and not long after they eloped to Stevenson, WA, on November 2, 1954. Dale then entered the Air Force in 1955, serving 4 years as an aircraft mechanic. Most of Dale’s career was spent working as a diesel mechanic at Associated Grocers for 21 years. Daniel Leon Naasz, 64, passed away at his home in Hesperia, CA on October 12, 2016. Daniel was born September 11, 1952 in Yakima, WA to Harold and Jackie Naasz. He attended Auburn High School and graduated in 1970. He began his career at BNSF Railway in 1977 where he worked in 9 states and Canada and retired from in July 2012.

In 1974 he welcomed his first daughter, Brandi. He married Sharon in 1978, having two more children, Kelli in 1981 and Kiel in 1988. Dan made his home in Yakima, WA where he lived until 2009 when he moved to California.

He enjoyed volunteering for Wishing Star Foundation, books, movies, tattoos, collecting everything under the sun, farmers markets, traveling, and visiting with friends and family. He was a member of The Vintiques Car Club.
