He was born in McArthur, Arkansas Nov. 26, 1930 to Fletcher and Hazel Durey. Lon met the love of his life, Addie Mae, at Desha Central High School in Rohwer, Arkansas in 1948. They were married in Las Cruces, Mexico Dec. 27, 1950. Lon joined the Army in 1950, serving his country in Korea until 1953. He received two Silver and four Bronze Stars, KSM, UNSM, NDSM, and a Purple Heart. Lon moved his family to Tieton, WA in 1961 and found employment at Campbell Orchards. Lon loved farming, and every element of it, harvesting

annabuntenYAKIMA - Anna Bunten passed away February 13, 2010 at Regional Medical Center. She had spent most of her life in the Yakima Valley after moving there from Missouri in 1948.

She is survived by her husband Don Bunten, a daughter Betty Workman (Jack Morris) of Springfield, Missouri, two sons, Carrol Baxter of Yakima and Daimond Baxter (Marianne) of Wenatchee, 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Arthur Baxter, one son Marvin Baxter and two grandsons. There will be no service at Anna's request.

bobhillRobert “Bob” Allen Hill, 73, passed away at home in Yakima in the early morning hours on Friday, May 8, 2009, with his wife, Betty (Durey) Hill, and his good friend by his side. Bob was born July 5,1935, in Zillah, WA, to Robert G. and Caroline (Nelson) Hill. The family moved to Yakima soon after. He graduated from Yakima High School. Bob served in the United States Air Force for nearly six and a half years and was stationed at Strategic Air Command in Nebraska. This is where his love for aviation and art combined, and his reputation as an aviation artist grew. He was awarded a permanent Professor of Arts at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO, in 1989.
