jimmyalbert2YAKIMA - Jimmy Albert, 71, passed away on Monday June 22, 2009 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Jimmy was born to Adam and Doris (Morford) Albert on November 16, 1937. He attended Wapato High and served in the Air Force where he was stationed in Labador, near Iceland. Jim was a life-long mechanic. He owned and operated his own business, J & M Auto Service, in the Seattle area for many years. He moved his business to Yakima in 2001 and continued his business in auto repair until his retirement in 2008 due to illness. Jim loved to work on cars. He enjoyed fishing, camping and he lived life to the fullest.

He especially enjoyed watching every kind of sports. Mariners baseball was a favorite and he even enjoyed going to a few games. He enjoyed playing with his beloved dog Mika. Jim will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Jim is survived by his wife Doris J. Albert of Yakima; his daughter Debbie James of Sea Tac, WA; sisters Goldie Sapp of Orlando, FL, Linda Sandall of Yakima and brother Terry Albert of Greenville, NC; step-brothers Erman Evans of Orlando FL, Bill Evans of Alexander City, AL and Marvin Evans of Sea Tac, WA; step-children Kim (Don) Mittlieder of Union Gap, Rick (Janet) Kautzman of Zillah and Sharon (Jerry) Rank of Union Gap, and by seventeen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. jimmyalbert1
He was preceded in death by his mother Doris (Morford) Albert; his father Adam Albert; his beloved stepmother Ruth Albert; his first wife Martina Albert; his brother Adam Albert Jr.; sisters Dorothy Meadows and Violet Johnson, and by one step-sister, Liz Weizorack.
Visitation hours are from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Friday June 26, 2009 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Tahoma Cemetery.
The family wishes to express thanks for the special care and dedication his wife Doris gave in Jimmy's time of need.
