lonzodureyLonzo Edward Durey, age 59 passed away April 26,2011. He was born June 14, 1951 to Alonzo and Addie (Bartlett) Durey in California. He grew up in Tieton, WA and graduated from Highland High School in 1969. Lonzo married his high school sweetheart Judy (Wyatt) Durey on December 5, 1969. They shared 41 wonderful years and three children together.
Lonzo and Judy moved to Terrace Heights in 1979. There he dedicated over 30 years to his love of hard work and being outdoors working for Sundquist Fruit.
Lonzo was larger than life in every way. He loved his friends and family with all that he had. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, wood working and of course slot machines. He will be eternally loved and remembered by us all.
Lonzo was survived in life by his parents Alonzo and Addie Durey, two sisters Kathy Grubenhoff and Betty Jean Taylor, his wife Judy Durey, his sons Roger and Scott Durey, his daughters Angie (Durey) Belling and Rosie (Wilson) Durey and 13 grand and great-grandchildren.
We will be having a celebration of life on Saturday June 11, 2011. Join us from 1:30 to 3:30 at Sundquist Fruit, 101 Wagon Trail Drive, Yakima.
This is a casual potluck event. Everyone is welcome. Bring some food, a lawn chair, and most importantly fun stories.
